'The Rock' In 'Terminator 5'? Rumor Has Dwayne Johnson Possibly Joining Arnold Schwarzenegger For Sequel

From the files of internet speculation comes this gem about Dwayne Johnson possibly starring with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the recently fast-tracked "Terminator 5." According to WWE Examiner, "one version of the script is being produced specifically for The Rock himself."

HuffPost Entertainment reached out to Johnson's representatives to confirm the WWE Examiner report about "Terminator 5"; this post will be updated with their response.

That Johnson would potentially lend his name to "Terminator 5" is hardly surprising. In the last three years, the 41-year-old star has breathed life to fledgling blockbuster series like "Fast and Furious," "The Journey to the Center of the Earth" and "G.I. Joe."

""We call him franchise Viagra," "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" director Jon M. Chu said earlier this year. "He comes in and he elevates everything, not just physically, but energy-wise."

Johnson, an avid social media user, made no mention of this "Terminator 5" report on his Twitter page. The star is currently filming "Hercules" with Brett Ratner. (Yes, Johnson is playing Hercules.)

This, of course, wouldn't be the first time The Rock and Schwarzenegger appeared together onscreen. There was also this four-second moment from "The Rundown"

The Rock vs. Terminator?

Earlier this week, it was reported that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson might not compete in WrestleMania 30 come next April in New Orleans. That may be because the actor will be joining Arnold Schwarzenegger on the set of Terminator 5.

With Schwarzenegger confirming his involvement in the action sequel, Examiner reports that Johnson is now being considered for the role of T5's next sinister machine. More over, one source close to the project's Annapurna Films says that one version of the script is being written specifically for Johnson himself.

Not only that, the source continues, but T5 may actually be a prequel set in the time of Sarah Connor's parents, with The Rock hunting them down. According to Examiner, "Schwarzenegger may not play the role of a machine in the next film, but a potentially heroic human figure in or close to the Connor family. One theory is that Schwarzenegger's remarkable ability to protect the Connor family in the 1940s or 1950s with antiquated weaponry by today's standards ultimately inspired the machines to develop a terminator in his likeness that was eventually sent to 1984 when Sarah Connor was first targeted for termination."

However, this is merely speculation at this point, but the insider notes that T5 could very well be drastically different from any Terminator film we've seen before.

The Rock vs. Terminator

Terminator

Can The Rock save the Terminator franchise? Do you even want him to?

The news of Paramount's purchase of the Terminator franchise was met with a resounding "just let it die already." But how does adding The Rock, a.k.a. Dwayne Johnson make you feel? Bewildered? Betrayed? Is ANYONE EXCITED ABOUT THIS MOVIE?

WWE Examiner is reporting that Dwayne Johnson is being heavily courted to join the Terminator franchise. We can only assume it will be as a Terminator, otherwise why would you cast someone who is built like a brick shithouse? The source even says production could start as early as this January. Jesus that's soon; let's hope they have a better story than "magical orphan and her bag of never-ending timely props helps Kyle Reese."

So I turn to you, dear readers — how do you fix this franchise?

The Rock's shoulder tattoos

How much would a tattoo like The Rock's shoulder tattoo typically cost?

the rock tattoo 1

Quite a lot. Close to $1,000 I'd say. Depends where you get it done obviously. I'm actually looking into getting something like that myself, but you need to get pretty ripped to be able to pull it off properly and I don't feel I'm there yet.

Reigns Shows Off Tattoo Work, More on The Rock and Fast 6′s Major Weekend

One-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions Roman Reigns tweeted a photo of more tattoo work he had done recently:

- Fast 6 with The Rock is estimated to have drawn $98.52 million for its opening weekend, taking the #1 spot at the box office and bringing in more than any Universal movie ever has on opening weekend.

Rock tweeted on Sunday:

“Because of you, FAST 6 breaks box office records ($120m). Thrilled you love the character. More thrilled you love the movie.

Taurus Zodiac Tattoo Designs

In Western Astrology the sun is in the sign of Taurus from April 20 to May 20 in the tropical zodiac and May 14 to June 19 in the sidereal zodiac.

In the tropical zodiac it represents the newly re-established life of springtime. In siderial astrology it is associated with the constellation Taurus and is associated with the Greek myth of the bull-form taken by Zeus in order to win Europa.

Bull Tattoos

The Bull is a symbol of power, strength, resurrection, masculinity, fertility, impulsiveness, fathers, kingship, and the Zodiac sign and constellation Taurus. The widespread presence of the Bull in many different and widespread cultural mythologies and early religions can be explained by the fact that cattle were among the first animals domesticated by man, in fact probably not longer after the Asian wolf became the household dog. Cattle were the first wealth in a shift from a hunter-gather society to an agrarian culture. This was a profound change in the organization of human social and political units and domesticated Cattle were a crucial source of reliable and dependable supplies of meat, milk, blood and all else that the carcass could provide.

Tribal Tattoo Designs accounts for nearly a third of all tattoo design search requests, and the term "tribal" of course covers an astonishing array of tattoo design possibilities, from the traditional tribal tattoos of indigenous and aboriginal cultures, to the latest in graphic design for the body.

Polynesian Tattoo Designs

Maori tattooing is a distinct school of patterns and graphic designs within Polynesian tattooing. While much of Polynesian tattooing is derived from straight-line geometric patterns (and thought to originate with patterns found on ancient Lapita pottery shards such as have been discovered in Samoa), a design fact which rose in part because the traditional Polynesian tattoo combs are best suited to linear designs, Maori tattooing is essentially curvilinear, and the mainstay of Maori designs are based on the spiral. It should be noted that renowned traditional Hawaiian artist Keone Nunes has demonstrated that it is possible to reproduce complex curved designs using traditional Polynesian tattooing implements.

The Rock News On CINEMA

CINEMA with SARAH O'CONNOR: New action packed thriller from The Rock

DWAYNE Johnson (The Rock) stars in yet another fast-paced, action thriller, this time as a father, John Matthews, who is forced to clear the name of his teenage son who has wrongly been accused of a drug distribution crime.

In order to prevent his son serving a minimum 10-year prison sentence, Dwayne does what any ordinary dad would do — he makes a deal with the US attorney to work as an undercover informant, and he then proceeds to infiltrate a drug cartel and take out all the bad guys.

Dwayne makes this little adventure look as easy and everyday as mowing the lawn.

He gets away with this absurd premise because somewhere in the back of your mind, while you are watching this, you will remember that really this 'Joe Ordinary' character is actually The Rock and of course is perfectly capable of behaving like a superhero because he's a former professional wrestler.

And if you buy into this premise, then what follows is a quite fun, hugely enjoyable action adventure which rockets along at high speed and does exactly what you expect it to do.

Upping the stakes in this particular genre is an unexpected appearance in this kind of film by Susan Sarandon, who plays the DA, Joanne Keeghan, power hungry and happy to help Dwayne if the end result means more votes.

And any film which Sarandon agrees to appear in must be worthy in some form, so this is certainly worth looking at, even if only to find out why she found it so interesting.

What is noticeable about this particular effort is it doesn't try to glamourise the world of drug dealing and it does show the brutal consequences of being involved in the seedier side of this kind of business.

It does this while still maintaining all the thrills and spills we have come to expect from Dwayne's movies — the final scene is nothing short of spectacular with explosive results.

But it's attempts to send a deeper message about the pitfalls of the seedier side of life fall flat because neither the director or the lead actor have the ability to make us take their work too seriously.

Written and directed by ex stunt man Ric Roman Waugh, the script is all it should be — it is simple enough not to detract from the action, but interesting enough to keep us hooked to the plot.

The direction, however, falls a little short of what is desired.

There is an odd choice of camera shots in certain scenes.

At moments when deep, meaningful conversations are going on, we only get glimpses of faces, and at moments when the action is in full swing, the camera stops to concentrate on something which the director obviously found significant but doesn't translate to the viewer as part of the action.

But hey — this is a Dwayne Johnson film and as his previous track record shows, moments of high drama, conveying realistic emotions, are not his strong suit anyway, so who cares?

If you are in the mood for action, thrills and spills, then this fits that bill and will not disappoint.

The Rock In Snitch

The Rock is a softie

Just because Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is headlining a film that contains the plot of drug-trafficking, doesn’t automatically turn this into an action-packed ride. Which is a great surprise, since Johnson is taken out of his usual comfort zone, and his role here actually requires him to show a range of emotions to sell this story that is based on true events. And it’s certainly a change in gear that he handles extremely well, as with Snitch, Johnson shows that he has more to offer than his macho side throwing punches.

As an owner of a construction business, John  (Johnson) is leading a quiet life and he wants to keep it this way. This is until his son Jason (Rafi Gavron) makes the mistake of getting mixed up with the wrong crowd and ultimately, drug smuggling. After his arrest, the minimum-sentence law states that faces ten years in jail – seems harsh, but that’s what the local US Attorney Joanne Keeghan (Susan Sarandon) and her tough anti-drug stance is insisting takes place, no exceptions allowed. The way to reduce sentencing is for Jason to assist in making significant arrests of big players in the drug scene. But he refuses to be an informer – so his father volunteers his services. He will go undercover, make some deals that will hopefully end in arrests big enough for the US Attorney to be more lenient.

Perhaps The Rock could be seen as a bit of a miscast here – anyone who messes with The Rock’s family in any standard action vehicle would have around an hour or so before he comes violently knocking. But here, John is an utterly ordinary businessman, with very little skills required to lead a one-man army. In fact we even see the mighty Rock get beaten down by a group of thugs as he unwisely tries to enter the drug world by himself, not knowing what to say and who to approach.
Help is at hand however, as John reaches out to an ex-convict employee of his who has a history of drug dealing. Wanting to stay clean, start over, and avoid his third strike, Daniel (Jon Bernthal) reluctantly agrees, not fully aware of John’s true intentions. John will also receive tactical support from Agent Cooper (Barry Pepper), and so the dangerous assignment begins.

Essentially the message that is repeatedly used throughout is the fact that fathers are willing to do anything for the benefit of their families. And we see several examples of fathers doing whatever is necessary – the most obvious one here is John, Daniel also has a son and wife to support, the same goes for the drug kingpin they’re trying to take down, Juan Carlos “El Topo” Pintera (a very well-cast Benjamin Bratt). Very little time is spent on Pintera, the antagonist, and it’s all about the “good” guys put in impossible situations, getting in way over their heads.

There are tonal inconsistencies largely due to the film not quite being able to balance the thriller side to the more grounded drama aspect. It’s better in giving us the tense excitement even with a relatively tight budget – the inevitable final highway chase involving a shootout is on a small scale, with very little gimmick and yet is able to deliver some quality action. The many stand-offs between the good guys and bad also have effective input in working towards a climax, more so since we’ve already seen just how vulnerable John is in this unpredictable criminal world.

Less well done is the film’s focus on the individual characters themselves. Even though the ensemble doesn’t look at all crowded, the film struggles to throw in a variety and the running theme becomes very tiresome and repetitive. Yes, yes, the fathers are doing this amazing thing, but what we don’t need is a constant reminder of the struggling children who we start to feel less and less sorry for the more we see them take up the screen time.

More frustrating is the underuse of the most talented member in the cast, Sarandon. With a potentially juicy role as an ambitious, cut-throat political ladder climber who is initially solely investedin this for her gain, she barely features on the screen. Granted, whenever she does turn up she has some ice-cold dialogue to spit out, but given the talent she possesses, this is no doubt a role that is far too simple and underdeveloped, given how much time is given to other less important players.

Overall it’s a film full of pleasant surprises. Most noticeable is Johnson’s transformation and that he doesn’t look out of place in a role that shows a lot more weakness. This goes to show he’s far from the action star one-trick pony we all thought he was, and to witness that alone is worth the film’s running time.

'Empire State' w/Dwayne Johnson Coming To Blu-Ray DVD 9/3

I’m sure you’re saying to yourself, like I did: “Wait, when did that Dwayne Johnson movie come out?”

The answer is that, it didn’t. In fact, I had to search, and found out that Tambay first wrote about this film back in January 2012, and Vanessa followed up in July announcing that the film was scheduled to be released in June 2013.

Well it’s June 2013 and…nothing!

No, wait, that’s not exactly true. Lionsgate Home Video has now announced that the heist thriller, Empire State, starring Johnson, Liam Hemsworth (Is he the one who plays Thor or is that his brother”) and Emma (AKA Julia’s niece) Roberts, is coming out on blu-ray DVD on August 3rd.

The film also stars Roger Guenveur Smith as “Agent Marichal,” and is based “around the real-life robbery of the Sentry Armored Car Company in 1982; an $11.4 million haul that, at the time, was the biggest cash robbery in U.S. history."

But still, one has to ask, what happened? Why wasn’t the film released theatrically, especially with Johnson starring?

Yeah sure, of course, it must be bad (I couldn’t even find a single trailer for it), but that hasn’t stopped a film from being released before.

It happens every week.

DWAYNE JOHNSON: ‘SEVEN REASONS WHY’ “G.I. JOE RETALIATION” IS THE GREATEST

It’s been over a decade since we’ve watched Dwayne Johnson step out of the wrestling ring and onto a movie set for The Mummy Returns (2001), sparking his own spin-off, The Scorpion King (2002), and launching a film career that has generated a hefty return in box office sales.

But put aside the Fast & Furious franchise, family pics like Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, and his dramatic turn in this year’s Snitch, because Johnson is fulfilling a childhood fantasy by becoming a ‘Joe’ in G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

“As a kid, I loved playing with the G.I. Joe action figures,” Johnson admits.  ”When I got involved with the project I began to understand the mythology and was impressed by how layered it is and how deep it goes.”

“Dwayne is essentially a G.I. Joe and that’s something you can’t act or script out,” adds director Jon Chu.  ”It’s just in his DNA.  When you think of anyone who is almost a living action figure, Dwayne comes to mind.”

Johnson’s co-star Channing Tatum agrees.  “Dwayne is an actual action figure,” he says.  “Every time I look at him on set I think ‘That’s The Rock!’  His arm is literally as big as my waist.”

And size certainly matters when it comes to taking on Roadblock in Retaliation.  Known for being the heavy machine gunner in the group, Chu brought that part of the character’s mythology to life, just one reason Johnson thinks this movie is the “greatest G.I. Joe movie” ever made.  Not to mention becoming an actual action figure, and starring alongside Bruce Willis.

Check out Johnson’s entire ‘Seven Reasons Why’ this film is the “greatest.”

Hugh Jackman Talks The Rock Advice From The Rock In Men's Fitness! assume

Men's Fitness is lucky to have Hugh Jackman on their cover, not the other way around!

Hugh's done work with MF before, so this is par for the course for the 44 year old muscle farmer. What IS new about this, is what Hugh had to say on the inside!

Mr. Jackman said the following about getting fitness advice from The Rock:

“He told me that if in a six-month period you want to put on 25 pounds of lean muscle and not fat, eat natural and eat 6,000 calories a day. There were times when I would literally eat with the mind set of working out. ‘One more mouthful, one more, come on, come on, you’ve got to finish this meal!’”

'Snitch' review: Dwayne Johnson fights the war on drugs

Dwayne Johnson may be best known as a wham bam action hero, but in Snitch the man who propelled himself to fame with the people's eyebrow makes a sidestep into more dramatic territory. Gone is the unrelenting badassery of the Fast & Furious saga's Luke Hobbs in favour of a dialled down turn as a father who'll do anything to save his teenage son from a lengthy, life-sapping prison stretch.

Johnson plays John Matthews, a construction magnate who's shaken up when son Jason (Rafi Gavron) gets busted for aiding in a drug import. Severe narcotics laws - even for a first-timer - mean Jason is faced with the prospect of decades behind bars (and he quickly becomes prison punch bag), so John strikes a deal with the DEA and ball-busting DA Joanne Keeghan (Susan Sarandon) to flush out drug lords in return for leniency on his son's sentence.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Sells His $3 Million Florida Mega-Mansion

From California to Florida, Dwayne Johnson is unloading some seriously pricey properties.

The Fast & Furious 6 star’s Sunshine State digs just sold last month for a whopping $3 million.

And this isn’t like any other bachelor pad. This bulked-up action star likes his homes just like he likes his famous muscles… BIG!

It was only a year ago that Johnson bought the 13,353-square foot mega-mansion just north of Miami from another former University of Miami football player, Miami Dolphins Vernon Carey, for $3.4 million.

This time the 41-year-old actor asked for $3.49M -- but only got $3 million. (Seems like a bargain for the opulent property that’s almost 100,000 total square feet.)

So, you ask, what do you get for that kind of dough?

The custom-built 6-bedroom, 6-bath chateau has a grand entrance with gated driveway fit for the wrestling king-turned-movie star, majestic fountains and super private lush landscaping. The gourmet kitchen has state-of-the-art chef’s-style appliances, spectacular media room, spacious master suite, and oak paneled office.
